Sparkle and Chase Puppies 3/18/09

Hello, this blog is being created to highlight the Sparkle x Chase puppies born on March 18, 2009. Dad Chase and Mom Sparkle are very proud of their nine babies.

Dad Chase's registered name is: ASCA/AKC CH. Melody's Buzz 'n By, DNA-VP. He is a beautiful black tri. He lives in Santa Rosa, California. This is what Cathy Davis of Melody Australian Shepherds has to say about her boy "Chase." He is the sweetest boy. He gets along with all the dogs, Male or Female, and just wants to play. He visits our duck everyday and carries his own toy duck down to the pond. He uses his front feet as hands to catch balls or toys, then shoves them into his mouth before his feet hit the ground. He is truly Bidable and Loving and will do anything for someone he loves. The picture tells his story with all his friends. When off leash in any situation he will return with a call and wants to be by your side. Chase has Brains, Beauty and Loves to please. He is our MAIN MAN here!

Mom Sparkle's registered name is: ATCH ASCA/AKC CH. Casa Blanca's Sparkle Plenty, AX, MXJ, GS-E-OP, RS-E-OP, JS-E-OP, EAC, ECC, EJC, CGC, DNA-CP, TDI

You might be wondering what all of those abbreviations stand for. CH. stands for a conformation champion. The dog has to be the best dog of their sex at a show in order to accumulate points. After they win a total of 15 points, they are a champion. You can get anywhere from one to five points at a show. The number you can get depends on how many dogs are being shown that day.

ATCH stands for Agility Trial Champion. The rest of the titles behind Sparkle's name come from agility. There are three main agility events. The "Standard" course, which has contact obstacles (Dog Walk, A-Frame, Teeter Totter and Pause Table), jumps and weave poles and a tire.
The "Jumpers" course usually has jumps only, but in AKC events it includes weave poles.
The "Gamblers" couse has all of the obstacles. You design the first part of your course and after 40 seconds a whistle is blown and then you have to do a prescribed set of obstacles from a distance. You start out in Novice agility and then on to Open and then to Excellent or Elite, the highest you can go.

CGC stands for Good Citizenship Award.

DNA-CP means that the dog has a DNA profile and as the generations go on, parentage is verified. DNA-VP means the dog has been DNA profiled and he matches both of his DNA'd parents.

TDI stands for Therapy Dog.

This is Sparkle's last litter. After her puppies leave, she will be back in agility training and we will be pursuing her MACH Agility Title, which is the highest title you can achieve in agility in AKC. I will be updating the puppy blog often, so check back for updated pictures of the puppies.

Sparkle's lastest accomplishments include:

Winner of the 2008 Las Vegas ASCA National Specialty Agility Finals - Vets
Premiere "5" at the Cascade ASC Pre-Show (2008 ASCA National Specialty - Las Vegas)
Reserve Winners Bitch at the 2001 Colorado ASCA Nationals at six months of age
Herding Group 1 Puppy at the Kennel Club of Palm Springs
Best Puppy in Sweeps at the 2002 USASA Nationals
ASCA Champion at 15 months
AKC Champion at 2 years
12 Premiere's at ASCA Nationals and Pre-Shows

She is a Register of Merit 1 Dam in AKC and 1 title away from her Hall of Fame Dam in ASCA
Her kids are currently competing in all areas of competition and two of her pups are currently in the Top Ten in ASCA Conformation! And, those two also are doing very well in agility!

And, Sparkle's greatest attributes are her loving, outgoing personality. She loves life and lives to please!!
